A couple days ago, I posted a link to an interview with best-selling author, Phil Town. I've read his first book, Rule #1, at least half a dozen times. It is a great book that brings Graham & Dodd investing (Ben Graham was the Columbia professor who taught Warren Buffett how to invest.) into the 21st century. Phil shows how to use the internet to do in minutes what took days and weeks to do when Mr. Buffett was in his heyday.
I sat down with his second book, Payback Time, on Saturday afternoon and finished it Sunday morning. I found it a much easier read than the first book. If you're willing to invest the time to educate yourself on changing the way you think from buying stock to buying a piece of a business and then learn how to actually value that business, you'll do far better for yourself than any financial planner or fund manager could ever do.
The only thing you'll still need me for is your insurance needs.
